Acne - Types of Acne and Solutions to Heal It

The Whitehead

This type of acne is typical. The pores get clogged and bulge with a white tip to them. Avoid squeezing! This will create a scar and spread the bacteria.

Blackhead

Just as the whitehead, it is named after the appearance. Open pores become clogged and oil and dirt collect in them, giving them a black tip. There is a special tool for cleaning out this type of acne and it is very effective.

Pimple

In a vulnerable open pore, bacteria is introduced, also called sebum and the skin will develop a red bump. Sometimes painful and again, do not squeeze it.

Nodule

These are quite painful, as this type of acne is deep under the skin. They are infected cysts and can get quite large.

Causes Of Acne

There can be many causes, but the most common are hormonal, stress, and diet related. Lets take a look at each of these.

Hormonal

Both boys and girls go through hormonal changes when entering puberty. Why some are affected by acne and others are not has been a question, but it is not a mystery, and this will be discussed later. Women experience outbreaks around menses, and there is a way to reduce these, which will also be discussed.

Stress

Not easy to avoid altogether, stress can trigger an outbreak of acne. One way to reduce stress is to get adequate sleep each night and avoid excessive amounts of caffeine. Some enjoy meditation or yoga. Experiment with relaxing activities.

Diet

This is the big one, and where some need to make the most changes. Greasy, fatty foods are the major culprit and other popular junk food, including soft drinks. This brings us back to why some adolescents are plagued with acne and others are not. Fast food is a major trigger.

Fruits and vegetables are never eaten enough, yet they are the most important weapons we have against skin problems. Leafy greens are among the best. Eating an all fruit breakfast is a good way to start the day, and you will notice more energy throughout your day as well.

Water

If you do not drink enough water during the day, your skin will suffer for it. Being the largest organ we have, it works to eliminate toxins, and where do these toxins go? The surface of our epidermis. Give it a helping hand and drink at least eight glasses of pure water every day.

No Touching

Avoid touching your face. This will spread bacteria. Do not wash with hot water either, as this will dry the skin. Pat it dry and use a fresh towel each time you wash. This will reduce the spread of acne.

Cucumber To The Rescue

Enjoy a luxurious spa treatment at home that will help get rid of skin problems. Take one cucumber and put it in a blender. Spread over the face and relax for a half an hour. Wash it off and pat dry. Do this once daily and be amazed at how smooth and clear your complexion will become in a short while.
